Default Wiper blades

Hi, do I need to replace the whole Trico wiper blade or are replacement rubbers available?

You will be better changing the whole blade as the tension goes week after a bit. bosch are the best.

Are Trico the original fitment? I suspect not. As said, the metal parts of the blades do wear, giving poor control of the rubber part. Poor quality rubbers probably don't last very long out there and universal rubber replacements that can be cut to fit are usually the same poor quality.
Spraying up some new black ones with satin silver might be the way to go.

OK. Can someone please confirm that Trico were the original wiper blades fitted to 69 144. I always thought they were.

If these are the ones with the little red 'button' to realise them - then I'd say yes they are the originals

Stick with refills - just buy the best out there, mine wipe well and last for 2 years? and that's with UK weather

Just looked at some brochures, Trico fitted as standard. Billy, where did you get yours?

If I say Motaman in Bedminster, that's not going to help you!!!

I would say take the old ones into your local motor factors - as long as they are the correct width (7mm from memory) and have the springy 'arrow-head' on one end you'll be fine - slide them in, wait for the snap of the 'arrow-head' and cut with a knife or secateurs

Cheers now

From memory and old photos all the 144s my father and myself have had over the last 35 or so years have had Anco wiper blades fitted to them. These were the distinctive blades with the red button on them. This may be a UK spec thing although I'm sure I saw some on US Ebay recently.
