Default Oil change?

Good afternoon folks.
Is it possible to do an oil change with an extractor, with not having a dipstick?

Thank you

its never a good idea, you don't get it all out . The oil is so easy to drain out the bottom once you get the car up on a pair of ramps .

Treat yourself to some Rhino Ramps. Makes the job a whole lot more easier and enjoyable. Not to mention safer.

Sorry to hijack but when filling. How can you tell it’s enough if it hasn’t got a dipstick?

Drain the oil thoroughly by the sump plug and add the correct amount minus a bit of oil and check electronic gauge. It's easier to add oil than to drain it off. I would have thought you'd have a "technicians" dipstick though!?

5.9 litres ,do not over fill. I would go for 5.8 litres

There IS a short grey dipstick on the front of the engine very low down on the bottom of the block towards the crank pulley end, more easily accessed from underneath. The level must not exceed 2/3 up the marked part of the dipstick

Then part of each service is resetting/recalibrating the oil level gauge ...

You can add a manual dipstick. Easy enough to do. Parts cost me £65. Part nos. listed in this thread...

Halfords sell decent ramps for £59 and sometimes have offers on when you can get them for less. Makes changing the oil yourself a doddle.
