V 40 ARM REST gone floppy
Anyone got a solution for an arm rest that flops down !
There is a spring/clip that apparently locks onto a rachet If this clip breaks the arm rest flops down towards the drinks holder 1) How does one get into the mechanisn ? Entire seat removal? 2) Any other fixes? There is a bar that goes into the seat back with a slit that the clip would appear to go into but how to fit this inside the seat Thanks for any advice V 40 2000 |

Thanks TONY yes "Some of the P1's had them built onto the side of the seat"
Exactly that So do I need to take apart the back of the drivers seat? There is a tube in the side of the seat back rest and into this fits a rod from the arm rest. I wonder if I glue it in place would it stay locked? Other than that it looks a complex task to remove the leather from the seat back |
