Default Changing P.C.V

Hi all just a quick question im changing pcv system pipes oil box ect, have got it all striped down ready for the new parts tomorrow and wanted to know if i could put the battery back on to check my oil pressure switch and wireing to it as the light on dash has never worked, i have changed the bulb, so must be wireing or switch and thought it would be easier to get to with the manifold off, just not sure if i put the battery on with every thing disconected and turn on ignition it will blow something.

Thanks in advance
Rob

the only problem you will have is not to put the ignition on if the inlet manifold and injectors are off as it will just shoot the petrol out all over the place but should be ok if the injectors and fuel lines are still together i hope this helps

Locate the fuse to the fuel pump then you can check your oil pressure otherwise as the previous poster said you will have a sudden spray of fuel

Removing the fuel pump fuse wont harm anything.

Why not disconnect the battery positive & reconnect the negative terminal then run a test bulb from the positive battery terminal to the oil switch it should light up if not the switch is duff.
Or wait till it's all back together & work from undermeath the car & run a test light from the oil switch wire to earth with the ignition on it should light up if not the wiring is suspect.
