Default P2 S60 showing as "Estate Car" on vehicle database

Went to the Autoglass website to get a quote for a windscreen chip, put the reg in, came up as "VOLVO S60, ESTATE, 2004."

I've also noticed my insurance document says "Estate Car/Station Wagon" - I've never been asked that, nor is there a way to change it, it's just come from the reg.

This seems wrong to me, are they all supposedly "estates" or has something about mine gone awry?

On total car check it shows as an S60 Saloon .

I wouldn't worry......................

On that theme, there's a car hereabouts that has a plate that used to be on a Bentley (and appeared on DVLA database) but now is on a different vehicle (same driver), and has been for some time, but plate comes back as 'not found'. Why might that be?

Dug out the V5C which does confirm it's down as Estate.

I think Total Car Check might not be accurate - that also shows it Euro 3, I thought it's Euro 4 being a facelift 2.5T?

A little internet sleuthing has interesting results. After using Google images to find a few "test" cars, it seems many/most S60s on a 54-plate have Estate as their body style at the DVLA. 04 and 05 both come up as 4 Door Saloon, in all the examples I've tried.

So maybe a type approval mess-up for the first facelifts; looks like there's loads of these "S60 estates" around anyway

I think that yours will be Euro 3

My last facelift XC70 was newer than yours with a 05 plate and was Euro 3

Had this many times before on my fleet vehicles , even Volvo’s down as Fords, just fill in the correct details on the V5 and send it off to DVLA who will change it.
