Dropped tool behind rear light cluster - help!

I was unscrewing the long allen bolts that retain the rear off side light cluster. I slipped and heard my socket and extension drop clanging to their doom. I can't see/find them anywhere. There seems to be a double skin of metal.

Does anyone know if/how I can access the lowest point of the inside of that double skin?
