I replaced my battery from the dealers for £110 incl fitting 3 years ago. I just had the low battery warning signs. No problems with the new battery so far

So your dealer price is reasonable

Last Sunday I was waiting in the XC90 for about 10 to 15 mins whilst waiting for everyone to get ready so we can leave, doors were probably left open for about 5 mins, interior lights have already been changed to LED. To my surprise once I put the key in I saw the "LOW BATTERY" warning. And this is with the brand new Volvo battery. It has been in a repair garage for a week before that so I don't know if they left doors open for a long time or not. But this is starting to worry me

That's not unusual. Did you have the radio on? It's more of a warning that you have been draining the battery for a while, rather than an indication of a fault.

+1

Low warning is just an indication that there has been demand on the battery.
Any lights/stereo on, while the car is not running will drain the battery. Monitor the battery over the next few weeks -

I was out shopping with my 4yr old son the other day when I got back to the car and it wouldn't start again. After alot of messing around I rang my mechanic friend who came over after his work finished. He tried couple of things then moved the cable for the starter motor and it worked. He said I have a lazy started motor and the corroded contacts are not helping. I need to get the contcacts properly cleaned and it will be OK.
