I pick up a D5 S90 tomorrow and wondered about the Polestar option.

In hindsight I should have negotiated it into the price but hey ho.

I will most likely keep the car std for a while as then i suppose I will feel the benefit of the Polestar more, in real terms is it noticeable?

Appreciate any reviews.

Looking on the bright side, I should be glad I missed it as I think I’ve still got an issue to fix on the ‘new’ car.

Can you tell I’m trying to convince myself?

Got mine in just in time.

He had said last week it was due to end asap.....

My D3 pulls better and revs a bit harder. Extra 27bhp, 50NM of torque.

The torque is the thing you really notice. The 350NM torque band was 1500-2250rpm. Now it is 400NM from 1500-2750NM. Less requirement to change gear for overtakes.

Let me make this clear, my car isn't suddenly a flying machine, and there is no way in hell I'd have paid 750 quid for it. However, I am happy to go from 136bhp to 163bhp for 350 pound safe in the knowledge I've got a safe upgrade through Volvo.

It always felt restrained as the 136 is a deliberate detune of the D3 for the low tax band. MPG seems uneffected and maybe even better. Will take a few tank fuels to find out, but no adverse issues so far.
