V40 car alarm issue

Hi I have a v40 13 plate and the alarm keeps going off randomly with no distinct time frequency or location. It will either repeatedly go off or be fine for days to then go off randomly. I have had to leave it unlocked and tried reduced guard. Wondering what else to try or do ?
Booked in with dealers next week but told it will be £160 nust to diagnose fault, rang auto electrical and normal garages but all said they dont work on them. Any advice and info if this is a common fault ?

Sometimes a fly/wasp/etc trapped in the car can set off the interior detector for the alarm, or something moving maybe due to heat?
