Ffs, no acceleration when cold, anti skid service required
Hello all,
Would appreciate some guidance. I have a 2007 xc90 d5 auto. This morning when I started the car, the warning lights and messages came on for "anti skid service required" and also "brake service required" (abs light). I cleared them and drove off, but the car would not accelerate past 10 mph approx and when I tried accelerating, the anti skid light flashed. After 200 metres it accelerated and drove without issue. Did my full 8 hours at work and get back in the car, same thing, but took a little lo get to get going. Lights remained on throughout both journeys. Any ideas whatsoever? I am trawling through all the different forums with key words in attempts to find similar issues with the cold start. Thank you |

You need to first look for codes with vida or a pro code reader.
If no codes it may be down to abs rings kicking on the traction control and cutting power. That’s just a guess though you need to get it plugged in. |

Don’t trawl the net it isn’t worth it until you get the error codes read.

I changed the sensor and all was good. To get round the 10mph bit until you get to the bottom of it, when starting, if the messages are there, use the left hand stalk and turn until you see DSTC and then press the little button to disable it. It will then allow you to drive normally but all error message/lights will remain.

Try turning DSTC off in the menu (or button on the dash on earlier cars) and then drive it (it resets every time you start it). If it's okay, then likely cracked ABS ring. DSTC is the only system that can override commanded throttle.
But as said above - always best to get the codes read.
