Got an 2003 (D5 AWD) model LHD (Europe) and am wondering how the handbrake cable is adjusted. There is no cable adjuster under the centre console like others have. Cable runs from foot pedal to cable splitter (see the image below) under the centre console directly and that's it.
I'm trying to change the handbrake shoes, because handbrake didn't hold the car even slightly. If handbrake is not engaged, the cables under the centre console are loose and when I engage the handbrake (pedal goes in only 3 clicks) the cables will tighten, but brake won't hold the car.
Will resetting the pedal and changing the shoes help this? Or am I missing some adjusters?
EDIT:
So I figured out I have that early model with no manual adjustment.
Anyways, can anyone point out some directions on how to reset the pedal? I have the instructions from Vida, but are quite unclear to me. Or should I just get the pedal with the adjuster on the cable?
