Thanks, was going to get under that to check as it is drivers wing and drivers door. Would take a trolley jack with me and lift it for a look before buy.

Given the bits needed, was going to offer him £2500 max, what do you think?

Bit confused looking at spec online. Also I cannot work out why same model year cars have different interior consoles. Why do some have a flat centre console and some are stepped?
One of these with the light wood is from a 2007 SE LUX I'm interested in, the other is a T5, but also seen the step on other SE's.

As Simmy has said, it may have been changed.

You need to go by model year not reg. Mine is MY08 but manufactured in '07 on a 57 plate. MY08 on cars had the new centre design which included the Nordic oak trim.

Press bullsh*t says, "From MY08 the tunnel console and the armrest was given a completely new design matching the dashboard's unique, floating centre console and with the same type of decor inserts. The aim has been to provide the highest possible feeling of quality while still increasing the flexibility and storage possibilities".

Not sure it's particularly material in the grand scheme of things - or it wasn't for me when I was making my buying decision.

I'm bound to be biased as I have a MY 2012 2011 C70 Solstice Edition T5 geartronic (with Polestar).

The solstice edition is based on the SE Lux and has everything on the options list thrown at it - literally! It's a fantastic car with all the goodies.

Problem is, firstly they are rare, and second, they hold their value so not cheap. I think there were only 15 T5 solstices in the UK (14 still on the road). There are 189 D3 autos, 34 D3 manuals, 44 D4 autos and 23 D4 manuals still on the road. It's a case of be patient and be prepared to pay a premium.

They are all a long way North of the OP's budget though.

Thanks, I’ve thought it must have been model year, but was just curious.
What seems to rule so many cars out for me at my price level, or when I think about raising what I could pay, is that better cars at 7-8k, many don’t come with heated seats. It’s a small thing but using the car year round and getting out to work in the small hours, makes a difference as they heat up a lot faster than the diesel engine.

Even some of the facelift SE LUX don’t have satnav as standard, so its mix and match on the spec.
Ideally if I find one, I’d stretch to get a D4 SE LUX auto, with decent audio and live without the satnav. Just need to keep looking for now.
Although thats not made easy by traders who don’t answer the phone, return messages or reply to emails! Been trying one guy for a week now, whose wife keeps answering his phone and knows nothing of his business, despite him advertising 35 cars on Motors and Ebay!

Also traders seem to have a different idea of what FSH means, many of them seem to think it doesn’t include a cambelt, and won’t move on their price so that’s ruled a few out.
