So I’m now going to look at the one with the black wheels on Tuesday, hopefully it could be the one I’m after.
Any specific C70 things to check? The yellow button in the boot? Also it has satnav, do I need to make sure it has a disc of this as it seems to be DVD based? There is also an SOS/Call button in the dash. Should this function as a stand-alone or does it need a separate SIM card somewhere? |

Black wheels easy to repaint or sell so not prohibitive. Xenons and comms nice on an '07 too. Have a check of the 6 disc CD changer and check all the channels/speakers on the Dynaudio system are present. Can be expensive to fix if faulty. Looks very promising. Good luck.

You've likely seen this & the internally linked thread Tim?
https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=315641 Agree with the Dynaudio checks - I did that on Sat on Horton's. Also check boot drains (and rear window seal/channel), as I did - if clear, it tends to indicate a. You'll have no/fewer roof issues b. You're buying from someone with some attention to detail & insight into the model. Hard to start ripping trim out to check for water ingress, but if it has suffered there will be stains/rusting of anchor points (as Sat). I'd also check the a/c is fully operational, including all the vents working as intended. Usual fully-hot check of the autobox during an extended drive. Specifically, don't worry about a rattly roof when closed and driving. Proper seal cleaning and lubing will fix that. Ask the owner if they have had any recurrence of the passenger door opening whilst driving that was attended to at the big service that's invoiced. Bloody worrying when it's happening (including on the M42 for me!) but 99/100 it's a lubrication (or lack of) issue, but on the other occasion it may be a defective latch, that's obviously going to hurt, financially. I know you, and others have gone down the D5 route, but there's still time to turn away from the black pump you know, as impressed on me when I started Graham's car up |

Did Graham suggest a petrol or was it just the noise?! need to keep the fuel bills as low as possible. Thats really the driver over engine choice otherwise I'd never consider a diesel cab.

The diesel prejudice is very much mine, but our conversation was along the lines of: "I can't get my head around a diesel cab Graham" "They drive very well John" "I don't doubt that, but it's still a dag-dag diesel, isn't it" Wry look from Graham, with "Well yes" and then we chatted about mine a bit, because he'd not seen it before. I know you'll make the right call for you, opinions are only that, and aren't right or wrong, no matter how firmly we hold them |
