1.7 Top and Bottom rad hoses, also heard via a friend that front wheel bearing kits no longer availible, but can't confirm that.

Now I need to find somewhere to make custom hoses, my top and bottom have perished in a matter of weeks. Yay.

hi there!

hope that helps

I also see from V3M you mentioned a company in soton who make bespoke hoses.

I guess we'll need to fit race car bespoke hoses to our 300s now!

Yeah, for now I've got a standard (not shiney like the ones you've linked) rubber elbow and a joiner on my old hose, but I may well use these nice shiney ones for the turbo

could you post some pics? interested to see the aftermarket ones and how they install... are you coming to the meet on the 16th?

Ive seen these pipes more commonly used on turbo cars but also seen racers with them for cooling

Yeah, I'll grab some pics for you mate. It's nothing special, just looks like the old hose but with a join. Basically the 90deg elbow I bought cost 5 quid, and came with 6" "arms" for want of a better word. So cut the old pipe where it was knackered, and put in a joiny bit, and cut the arms to length. Basically I'll replace sections as it wears out, as the hose diameter is a really common standard size (which I've forgotton... 1 3/4" internal rings a bell...).

Those metal tubes and shorter rubber bits look awesome, only thing I'd be worried about is the way my 1.7 bounces around inder the bonnet, it's not flexible enough, but we'll see!

As for the 16th meet, I'm not sure as yet, I am provisionally busy, but if anything happens, I'll be there like a shot, looks an awesome place for some pictures those caverns!

The trouble with that is that many of the aftermarket kits are of dubious quality SKF are the original manufacturer of the 'real' ones, so it should be possible to track some down if you "ask for them by name"

cheers

George, thanks, I missed this before.

Foggy, do you still have that bearing kit indoors? Just read off the SKF part numbers, and we can order them direct. Then the only thing will be the seals, which don't seem to come with aftermarket kits anway, and I'm sure we can get seals if we know int and ext diameters.
