760 GLE Windscreen - water ingress - damage
Hello all,
I have a 760 GLE estate and have noticed that the windscreen is showing signs of what I believe to be water ingress. Please see picture/s. It seems to be seeping into both right and left bottom corners and the centre too. But mainly from the left bottom corner. Has anyone experienced the same? I am wondering what (if anything) I should or could do about it. The car is totally sound and has always lived outside since being in my care. I realise this may just be cosmetic but in the event that it is more serious I would like to nip it in the bud and prevent it from causing any significant damage. Any comments would be appreciated. |

The only way to fix it is by fitting a new screen, do you know if it's the original ?
You might be able to slow it down a bit by removing the trims, cleaning around the affected edges and then try to seal it up. Not a problem until it spreads too far into the line of sight and it will fail the MOT or it cracks. |

Mines the same on my 98 940. Theres also a crack in the drivers side lower corner. As long as its outside the windscreen wiper arc I think its ok for the MOT. I don't think you can do anything about it but you could always ask at any of the windscreen specialists. They may have an idea how to stop it or be able to cure it?

Unless you do this it will only get worse. I have done this successfully on my Mercedes coupe's rear screen. Jon. |

Hello Steve, thanks for your response.
I am pretty sure it is the original screen. I notice the trim is removable by a number of largish phillips screws and there is also a fine beading. I may take a closer look at this. |

Thanks Alasdair for you response.
I'll consider a windscreen specialist, especially if it does become worse. |

Jon, thanks for your response.
I'll certainly give it a try. It sounds like a logical solution to the problem. |
