Default V70 D5 euro3 limp mode & engine service required

Hi all. I'm having problems as car is running in limp mode and displaying message "engine service required". Just had it serviced and MOT'd less than a week ago by local service garage I've been using for many years. Seems to be OK on first starting but appears to go into limp mode when temperature rises to normal level.
I've checked all the sensor connections I can find under the bonnet but to no avail. I now suspect I need to have the fault codes read but am a bit wary of going to the main dealer after previous poor experiences and don't think that my service garage will have the necessary test equipment to read the Volvo codes. Is there a recommended indi local to Warrington that I can go to for diagnostics? Thanks , Steve

Drop me a pm with a phone number and I'll see if I can sort something this week with code reading.
Can't help later today as I'm the wrong side of the Pennines.

In the meantime have a read through this. I'm not saying this is your problem but it's easy to check.
If it turns out to be the problem you'll most probably still need the codes checked and erased.

OP stated EUIII D5 so swirl arm doesn't apply.

Hi RobbieH, thanks for the offer of help. Appears I can't pm as I don't have sufficient posts for the right to pm. How can I get contact details to you? Steve

Many thanks Mark for the very rapid help and appologies for my V70 embarasing itself in front of your house. Just about to investigate the oil leak which appears had also left it's mark on my drive as I found when I got back (wasn't there yesterday)!

It may well be that the oil leak is at least partly the result of / cause of my problems with lack of power and limp mode, hopefully it's just a loose sump plug.

However, due to Mark's help I have the following fault codes to post which may be relevant to my problems:

ECM 6805 Boost sensor faulty flow
REM 4A31 Fuel sensor faulty signal
ECM 500A (no description)

There were a whole host of others that appeared to be minor air con & outiside temp monitor issues which have now been cleared.

Can anyone offer some clarification on those posted above?

Thanks

Steve
