Also helps to revive dry oil seals that might be weeping or about to start.
I got some Carlube ATF-U as soon as you mentioned this and it does seem to make a difference thanks..

Although my 960 is the saloon and not the estate I don't find the fuel consumption at all excessive.Mine is the 2.9[badged as a 3.0] and on a recent run to Uttoxeter for the BKV and another to Wetherby for the Northern BKV at a steady cruise of mainly 65-70mph[my racing days are long gone] it returned a figure just a smidgeon over 31mpg-for comparison my 3.0 vauxhall Omega saloon[also an automatic]will return a figure of 34.5mpg for a similar journey/speed,while my V70[2.4 140 manual]comes in at 39mpg under the same conditions.

I really don't worry too much about MPG but I do find that around 50 mph the 960 3.0 just wafts along at around 2000 revs and it is effortless driving

Of course plant the right foot hard and the old girl lifts up her skirts and flies and the 50mph to 80mph time is very impressive and makes overtaking a doddle!

Dont wan't to dissapoint evrybody but I am toying with getting a German Euroblob to replace my V70

It's also a 3.0 V6 but it has 401bhp and does 0-62mph in 4.7 seconds

Anyone fancy a race ??
