For example these are updates for my car: https://www.volvocars.com/uk/support...-release-notes I had service done in June last year, so in the next annual service, I will get updates released in June 2023, September 2023, and anything from now until service date, this is included in price for the service. Software updates are not only Sensus/AAOS infotainment updates, but also important adjustments for car ECU and other electronics: "Updates from September 2023 There have been minor drivetrain adjustments that do not affect performance, certification, homologation, environmental protection, or emissions." "Updates from April 2023 Drivetrain optimisation adjustments." And if any part of the software is faulty, for example something doesn't work in the menu, or loss of audio, maps glitching, no internet, bluetooth, or any other problem related to electronics, typically you will get a software update as a part of the warranty repair. Author's car is under manufacturer warranty, so he is covered either way.

So to update this thread....the car went to Volvo on Monday and they updated the software to the latest. Apparently it was intentionally held at 2.8 by Volvo and needed to be done at a dealer as the OTA might brick it.
On the app issue....they tried various stuff but in the end had no clue. Said they'd raise a report to Volvo, not heard anything since. Sounds a bit like they've put it on the 'too hard' pile. |

I had the same issues with getting the App to connect to the car, I saw somewhere to press the in-car SOS button during the App connect phase which actually forced the App to connect and now working as it should. Just had to apologise to the operator when they answered the call.

I can't remember the actual fault message, I was sitting in the car trying to connect to the app with no joy. When I pushed the SOS button it al started happening.

Still in the dealers….they have a case open with Volvo, and it seems nobody has a clue as to why it won’t pair to the app

Fixed! Dealer had to raise a case with Volvo, and it apparently required a special software update, software for what, I'm not sure. TCAM perhaps?
