Default Transmission Tunnel Pocket

Anybody on the forum found a use for the plastic pocket on the passenger side of the transmission tunnel. I can store a packet of extra strong mints in it but little else. Had it an elastic strap above you could probably store an OS map. Perhaps I am missing a trick !

Yeah, a net pocked would be much more useful.. I usually keep my wallet there on longer trips (easy to grab when paying road toll..)

It’s a strange one. I can’t find any mention of it in the manuals, and even the salesman at my Volvo dealership didn’t know what it was for. Maybe for sunglasses??

The Guy who does the Carwow video reviews on YouTube suggests it’s a banana holder 😀

Actually, it is in the manual (just found it), but it doesn’t say what it’s for. It just says “storage compartment for legroom”.

On LHD vehicles, this storage pocket makes more sense because it will by the drivers right leg so might be useful for loose change etc. It just looks odd in the passenger side of RHD vehicles.
