Default Care by Volvo insurance

Hi all,

I am waiting for my XC40 Recharge single motor to be built (November, hopefully), it will be on the Care by Volvo subscription scheme.

I would appreciate it if any Forum members who have their vehicles on the CbV scheme could advise if they use the CbV Insurance or have managed to use their own insurers.

The criteria set by CbV Insurance is quite onerous and my current insurers and the normal Volvo Car Insurance scheme won’t insure CbV vehicles. It’s not a problem for me to use the CbV Insurance scheme, but it would be good to know that there could be a choice of insurers.

Thanks in anticipation.

I have had nothing but trouble using CbV.

MY22 C40 cancelled after a wait of 6 months, offered 5% discount on a new order but prices had risen by 16%! Promised a priority order for July on a MY23 so reordered checked after a month to be told car not coming until November so I cancelled and ordered a low mileage 71 plate from Volvo Selekt, paid my deposit ans waited. Then “Sorry but the car you ordered has a major battery fault so we cant sell you that” Having never repaired a complete battery failure they didnt know how to fix it, an omen for all of us there! So here I am in July waiting on a factory order from my local dealer.

Now the CbV insurance is not Volvo insurance per se it is another “Partner’”. I had CbV insurance for an interim vehicle which developed faults so went back. When I ordered from Volvo Selekt I thought I could use my 6 month old insurance policy with that but no “We only insure CbV vehicles nothing else, pity they didnt make that clear from the outset”

Good luck!

Sorry to hear of the problems you had with CbV - I hope that my experience will not match yours…so far it’s been OK, but no doubt time will tell.
