Default 6 speed manual gearbox on 00-04 D5 V70

Morning.

In my search for a V70, I'm more into the first ones, but I'd prefer it with a 6 speed.. Do anyone could confirm a 6 speed is available on this model ?
If not, is it possible to swap the 5 speed for a 6 speed ? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance

The five-speed gearbox is a good one.

When I owned a 2003 V70 D5, fifth gear was my flexible friend.

Gearing was reasonably long, with approximately 58kph / 1,000 rpm. This enabled the car to cruise quietly. Also, though, the high torque and smoothness of the 5-cylinder engine combined with that gearing meant that I could remain in fifth gear down to surprisingly low speeds. Fuel economy was excellent.

With six gears, I would have needed to make more gear changes for no real benefit.

Others might feel differently.

I believe that the six-speed gearbox was introduced with the 2004 facelift, and the 185bhp D5 was introduced in 2005.
