Default Question about flywheel installation

Hi there -

I am converting my 1984 Volvo 240 (B21a) from a BW55 automatic transmission to an M47 5-spd. (The car is an original UK car, but I shipped it to the States when I returned home from Scotland in 2017.)

I have a flywheel from the donor car (which supposedly was a 1990 wagon), and got the flywheel resurfaced. (See picture.) The flywheel does not look like the flywheel shown in the Bentley manual for "late model" 240s.

In any event, my question is this: because I do not have a crank position sensor or fuel injection, do I need to worry about putting the engine at top dead center and positioning the flywheel according to the Bentley instructions -- which reference "signal pins" that are absent from the flywheel I have?

Thanks very much.

As you are on carb and not using a crank sensor you can slap it on in any of the 8 possible posoitions
