I actually bought a new starter switch unit with the drive mode switch included. It arrived a few days ago. I am going to fit it and hopefully I'll be able to activate it. After having added an R-design steering wheel with paddles I'm fairly confident.
I was hoping to use vdash. I paid for the small garage account with vdash so I could get support but they still haven't replied to me after 3 weeks. I'm actually going to request a refund. Those guys are absolutely useless. It's a pity because that program has so much potential for guys like us.

I'm unfortunately unable to do any configurations because VIDA was updated to not show the CEM PIN in the Configuration Test logs in June of this year. I'm waiting on an update from VDASH to figure out how to crack my CEM PIN - I refuse to have the CEM bench decoded because I don't want a brick in my parking garage. If the drive mode toggle doesn't do anything, I'm thinking I might just upgrade to ST2 tune in VDASH because it's better than the polestar tune at a 3rd of the cost. Either way, let me know if you reach a solution. |

@ZenSpeedmaster I received your PM but am unable to reply because I have less than 30 posts on this forum. I appreciate your advice!

Great. It seems that the next logical thing to do is pay €10 for a small garage account on vdash. This should allow you to open a support ticket and ask them to give you access to the experimental features. Although I must admit I paid my tenner and made my request about 3 weeks ago and haven't heard back from them yet.

I can't remember the exact route but in order get the small garage account you click the dollar button in the top right of the program's homepage and subscribe in the pop up window

Oh, I see it now. I didn't think that was a dollar symbol. So to use the experimental configurations, I'd have to pay $400?!

So I see the $10 option but to access the experimental configurations (and much of the other configurations), you need at least a Pro account which starts at $400. Literally the only thing I want to play with is the drive mode setting to see if it enables different drive modes. I'll send them a message to see if they can unlock that one configuration for me but I'm not going to spend $400 on that - I'd rather just pay to have the VEA unlocked and then install an engine tune at that point.

What year is your car? If its 2019 or newer you're out of luck as far as engine tuning goes. I learned this the hard way. The vdash interface is crap and leads you to believe that it's possible by offering the tuning options even on newer vea cars. However, even if you get your ECM PIN (engine control module) by the method I shared with you earlier tuning still won't be available. I learned this the hard way and ended up out of pocket by paying for an ECM PIN that's no use to me at this point. Just another example if how confusing vdash is.
