Default V90 Ocean Race issue with the drivers seat

Hello.

I have a late 2018 V90 CC Ocean Race that has covered 18,500 miles. I am truly amazed just how much wear is showing on the drivers seat. Note, my weight is 13.3 stone so not too big!

Anyone else with one of these cars experiencing a tired looking font drivers seat seat at a low mileage?

(Prior to this car I had a 2008 XC70 covered nearly 100k and the drivers front seat was in good condition.)

I have a late 2018 ocean race CC and my seats are in a very similar state at only 14k on the clock, I think it’s just a sign of the times all automotive companies seem to be using lesser grade leather these days.....

Agree . The drivers seat in my v90 ocean squeaks badly and the so called leather Trim Stretched. 25000miles on the clock . For top end money we should expect better from Volvo . May be Ocean and others V90 owners need to badger Volvo- May be a recall ? . My 2008 XC 70 ran for 150k and the seats were still in good condition.I will write to Volvo UK . It’s interesting others have this same issue .

Just out of interest, what was the ocean race edition?

I’m seeing the same wear on the driver’s seat of my 3 year old XC60. I’ve also seen previous posts about this issue in other models. It appears to be a common issue with the current leather seats.

They definitely look like a different type of leather than other SPA models, mine have a matte finish and the seat middles are spotless, only some creases on the edge of the bolster (not cracks) just leather creases.

Try pouring hot water from a kettle into a washing up bowl or such like, put in a small sized towel into it, ring it out briefly and place it whilst steaming hot onto the leather seat base and leave to cool. Repeat this a few times i expect you will see a vast improvement to the leather on the middles.

I would imagine if you used autoglym leather feed that would pretty much be new again. It looks dried out to me. I assume you don’t clean and nourish the leather?

You should nourish leather 2 times a year as minimum.
