I would go for a later 200BHP car every time, smoother engine, more economical, more reliable. I believe it's essentially the same engine with minor tweaks.

Thanks ! My experience was with the 163 D5 in a 55 plate XC70 and a 200 D5 in a 12 plate XC90 and no experience with the 182 D5.
Less problems known with the 200 D5 version it seams ?

And regarding the current offer on the Forum: I saw it yet red is not my colour on any car (Except an old BMW Z3) and if I would buy a car the max size of wheels would be 18"like I had under my old XC90. Bigger is less comfortable and more risks of punctures and more expensive too so R-design does not really work for me

I have seen a few US models on the European markets, all with 3.2 petrol engines and G/T, is there anyone with experience with these engines ?

There aren't many UK spec cars around with the 3.2 normally aspirated. It was also fitted to the Land Rover Freelander 2 as well as V70/XC70.

The models offered are sold in Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands. All LHD. I am considering buying one and have the lights adopted to UK spec (non Xenon so I wanted to have those changed anyway) and was curious if there is some experience from other 3.2 owners on here ?
Car itself sadly has no sunroof or Dynaudio either, probably difficult to retrofit ?

I would also guess that trying to retro fit Xenon bending headlamps would also be very expensive as the levelling and monitoring kit alsong with software downloads will also be needed as well has headlight washers if not already fitted.

Would probably go for complete units, so easy with a XC90 to remove and replace the whole unit. I do need new units for driving on the left and that would be the best to have the levelling and all ? Or would I still need sofrware ?

Other than that, I read somewhere that there was not much difference in terms of fuel consumption between the 2.5 T and the 3.2 and they should be equally reliable yet have not found much information about it on here.
What I have learned is to stay far far away from the 2.9 T6 with G/T ? Recipe for disaster if I am to believe reviews ?

Indeed, the 2.9T6 with the GM400 box is best avoided... I don't think there's too many left now.

The 3.2 N/A engine will likely be more reliable than the 2.5T as turbochargers need control systems, vacuum valves etc. which are often the first things to give trouble on an older car. None of that on the 3.2

Swapping the physical lamp units is a doddle, but I'm sure the wiring and software and other ancillaries like ballasts, levelling sensors etc is not an easy retro fit if the car does not already have them plus you will need software loaded, so unless its a like for like swap (halogen for halogen, Xenon for Xenon and bending Xenon for bending Xenon) I think you may have problems.

Hopefully others may be along that have successfully done this (or not) with some info.
