Default New (to me) wonderful 440

Rather later than it should have been, given this car was up for sale on here, and I bought her, back in February, here are some pictures of my 440.

A 1997 LE, so one of the last, and bought from her previous owner who loved her dearly! Only 37,000 miles on purchase, and a full Volvo service history.

Having brought Philomena (as we've called her) home, I "upgraded" her as far as possible from my previous 440 (who was rather more advanced in age and mileage, but has nonetheless found a loving new home locally, I'm pleased to say).

And now we're using her as a daily driver, and loving her. A 2.0i automatic, she's been used both locally and for a couple of trips away, and came 2nd in the 400 class today at the Northern BKV. She's just passed the 42,000 mile mark.

So, a few pictures - the one with Lily, my 480 GT, is at home; the other two were taken outside Beningbrough Hall, a local National Trust property.

Oh yes, and I have maintained the full Volvo service history - in that I changed the belts, plugs, etc, but had my local main dealer Ray Chapman do a basic service earlier this week to get the stamp in the service book. Pleased to report she was very well received at RC, causing a lot of excitement - apparently everyone was in the workshop to see her at some point during the day!

I'll start a thread in the Showroom as well...

David

I was admiring it today at the Northern BKV. It's as fine an example as I've seen. I always liked the 440 series and it's a shame so few of them have survived so it's good to see one looking this fine.

Thanks Martin! They are indeed getting really rare now, sadly.

Next steps are to get the dings in the passenger side, and the small bits of rust in bottom edges of the tailgate and driver's door sorted out...
