Had an ECU remap for my C70. I waited until I had the 108K service carried out and figured as I had already given away an arm and a leg I might as well chuck in another body part while I was at it.
I had a guy local to me in Surrey who gave me a few quid off as the first appointment didn't work out so I was happy at £275. Worth it? I should cocoa!! These are the figures given for my D5 C70: Original BHP 177 Tuned BHP 217 BHP (Increase) 40 BHP Increase (%) 23 % Original Torque (Nm) 400 Tuned Torque (Nm) 450 Torque (Increase) 50 Torque Increase (%) 13 % They meant nothing to me but the car has gone from pretty pokey to very pokey and I'm very chuffed I have to say. I'm not sure if I can post his details but if you search for expert tuning in Chaldon, Surrey I'm sure you'll track him down. Well worth the cash IMO. |

IIRC I read recently somewhere; BHP is how fast you hit the wall, Torque is how far you drag the wall down the road

Needless to say, I'm happy! Regarding fuel consumption, it's got marginally better as reported on the car but as I'm hitting the go pedal a lot more vigorously now, I'm not expecting much in the way of MPG benefits! |

bit of wheel painting today
before: mostly good from a distance. but when you get up close.. so I washed and sanded down: Etch-primer'd and sprayed (this isn't final coat yet) "Bavarian Dark Anthracite" - very dark grey I also painted my callipers gold but I didn't take a picture of that yet for some reason. took the opportunity to strip them apart, wire brush the living sh!t out of them, clean and re-grease sliding pins, even cleaned up the anti-vibration spring/clip things for a full clean look new wheel centre caps and a set of new bolts in the post Last edited by stuart bowes; Apr 24th, 2021 at 19:53. |

will do, except I made a bit of a booboo..
I stupidly somehow didnt notice I bought matte laquer, so the nice glossy finish has really dulled down. now I've only done the front two but I've got enough spraypaint to do the backs AND sand / re-top-coat the front two if I'm a little bit sparing with it. so I'm gonna leave them alone for now, do the back two and come back to the fronts later. pics to be uploaded when I've washed the car and finished them all to what I consider an acceptable standard i will say though, in my own humble opionion, they look the b"ll0c*S. unless you get up real close and start inspecting the very edge which has been curbed a bunch of times NOT by me I hasten to add.. I did the best I could but I'm not gonna lose sleep over it Last edited by stuart bowes; Apr 25th, 2021 at 18:48. |

updates...
rear seat cup holder / toy box thing: the calipers a nifty spray painting / masking trick I learnt from youtube: and the wheel with caliper bit hard to show the full range of colour and metalic shine etc you have to catch it in the right light. the caliper is subtle, i didnt want shouty bright yellow or red things, worked out pretty much exactly how I wanted |
