Default Fitting a USA Spec ipod adaptor?

Hi folks,
I was lucky enough to get an ipod 80gb classic off Father Christmas this year & have spotted a USA Spec ipod adaptor thingy so I can hardwire it into my oe stereo of my V70 (which I don`t have yet!)
I was wondering if anyone has any fitting tips for these and how difficult is the removal of the oe stereo facia to fit the adaptor behind? Pics would be most useful!
My car currently has a phone bracket fitted & I`ve asked for it to be removed so I assume getting these bits off will be quite striaghtforward.

As & when I do the job I`ll try & post pics & do a write up

Cheers

Lee

Do a search and you'll find loads of stuff:

There is an alternative to the USA Spec that looks interesting.

I've got the USA Spec and it sits under my passenger seat. Wires run down the side of the centre console.

Still very pleased with my USA spec adaptor. Very easy to fit.

I put the unit in the glove box and ran the Ipod cable through to the centre cup holders near the handbrake so my ipod mini lives in there out of sight with the lid closed in one of those cupholder ipod brackets. Perfect.

To get to back of stereo you basically unclip pen holder then work upwards unscrewing things.

The climate control unit can be a pig to get out but basically wiggle and pull, tilting upwards until it comes out.
DO NOT DISCONNECT THE CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT just leave it hanging there still plugged in.
