Open car Insert Key Start Car Turn on Seats, heated screen, mirrors, etc.. Remove Key (Engine Running) Shut door, and lock (With engine running) with fob. Back in the house for 5 minutes finislising work things. Drive to work in a warm car. I currently do this with my old S60, leaving the keys in the ignition. Expect to come out to the car missing one day. Don't fancy trying this in the new V40.

In my early days, I used to use the spare key to lock the central locking, and go back in the house. Will work something out. I suppose I could get a key cut and use that to lock the car.

Yeah, but it is only a little thing that will end up getting loose and lost.
Getting a standard one cut will only cost £3 and will work on the doors to lock the car safe when started. Can just leave it by the door. However I can not see a lock hole on the door handle (Internet pictures)

Glad you like your new V40 - I love my Cross Country too. I nearly got the 'R' Design but as I'm nearly 67 thought maybe I should get one more my age LOL. Great drive though.
