skid service light
hello folks,
hoping someone can help. my 2009 1.6 diesel was fine. It was jacked up on off side at rear for 3 months (was in hospital) So car resting on nearside wheel. Shock and spring were removed an replaced from jacked up side. When car finally lowered, wheel on near side was siezed, I think I had the handbrake applied while it was jacked up, which did not help ! Took wheel off and managed to free out. After that I had the skid service required light. Maybe I damaged something? Or maybe it was jacked up too long, the nearside wheel at an unnarural angle. What is the most likely problem here? many thanks John |

I hope you're fully recovered now. That's a long time in hospital!
Did you replace the shock and spring on both sides? That's important. Is the steering bang on now? If the steering wheel is too much off centre when driving in a straight line then that would be your problem. If not, then I hope someone else can help. Regards, Teddy |

thanks Teddy,
no only replaced on one side in rear, in fact same shock and spring went back into it. I though maybe it had something to do with the siezed wheel? Steering is pretty ok. John |

You'll need to scan the car with either vida, or a decent OBD scanner that includes ABS data. That'll help you narrow it down. Could be a faulty wheel speed sensor, or a problem with the wiring or abs pump. Also check the battery condition if it's been left standing for 3 months.
