Default Front windscreen washer works with rear window washer ??

Hi

When I push the stalk forward to wash the rear window the front window jets squirt a bit out too for a second.

I believe they are 2 separate washer pumps.

Ang ideas ?

Thanks

It is probably one combined Ford pump , it changes rotation direction to do the rear and a valve is faulty on the pump . A new pump is needed ..

It's a bit fiddly to change but is a diy job. I ordered one from eBay. Took about 30 mins to switch them over.

Can I get to it by doing it with the car on the ground ? I haven't looked to see if the inder tray can be removed without the car being jacked up.

Thanks

I did mine on the ground, it's a little bit tight and you need double jointed fingers but it can be done. Just be careful with the plug I managed to pull the connections loose and then replaced them the wrong way round. (front washed back and backed washed front) easy to fix but added time to the job.
