Exhaust Rattle?

Hi,

I drive a '98 S40 T4 which has approx. 36k miles on the clock. I have got an annoying noise from the back of the car.

The noise only occurs after the car has been driven for about 20 minutes, so when fully warm. The noise sounds like a rattle from the exhaust approx coming from under the rear seats. It only occurs when going around roundabouts a relatively low speed and gentle or no acceleration.

My first thought was the exhaust but after getting under the car i can't see and visible holes or points where it is catching the bodywork. The car has had a new backbox within the last 6 months.

Any thought on this would be much appreciated.

as you say the backbox is only 6 months old, i would return to whom you purchased it from, as it sounds very much like one of the baffles in the box is loose and vibrating.
