If you can find the Volvo Pocket Data Booklet online it’s worth checking whether your car was originally fitted with Nivos or standard shocks. Unless you’ve owned the car a long time it is possible a previous owner has fitted the wrong type.
On my 1997 V90 the rear shock digit on the VIN plate is H. There is contradictory information about this on other sites but according to the Volvo book this means Volvo p/n 9169421 should be used. These are standard gas-pressure shocks available quite cheaply. |

Rear shock absorbers v90
Hi.
I have purchased new suspension both for the front and the back and some new bushings from classic swede, and i recommend you -NOT- to buy anything from them, before i have installed these parts in my volvo v90 1998. This is because he has time to try to sell to you while i am waiting for reply on my parts that i ordred (and payed for the 17 juni) for an amount of 1362 pound and with norwegian tax about 1700 pound. Quite expensive for nothing i think. I have tried messenger, facebook and mail. Some excuses then silence. So if i get my parts i will let you now. If not you tell me were to buy. Regards Kent Norway. |

I bought a radiator hose from Classic Swede on 13th July which hasn't turned up yet either. I noticed he was in the process of transferring to a new website. Maybe he's got some difficulties. I've bought stuff from him before and he's been reliable.

Just a quick update which may be of help if the OP if he still hasn't received his parts.
My email to dai@classicswede.com, sent a month after my £36 order, bounced back after five days as undeliverable. I then tried contacting Dai via a PM on here. No reply. Today I put through a chargeback dispute on my credit card and was refunded before I even got around to uploading the above evidence. This makes me wonder whether Stripe, the payment processor, are aware of an issue. It's a shame because he has previously supplied some good non-OEM parts very professionally so hopefully this is just a temporary set-back. |
