The 760 mk2 was the first to get the intercooled engine and did so when it was first introduced in autumn 1987.

The 740 was never officially fitted with the intercooled engine

Early 940's were not intercooled but the later ones were. I think the change point was autumn 1991

There are quite a few 700/900's out there that have either had the intercooler set-up added or have had a complete engine replacement with an intercooled unit.

If that was a 2.4 5-cyl then it would have been an LT mk2 (sister vehicle to the Sprinter mk1). The LT mk1 used the same VW straight 6 (also 2.4) as the Volvo 700/900's we are talking about here - Volkswagen/Audi never actually used this engine in any passenger cars of their own, only the smaller 1.6 4-cyl and 2.0 5-cyl that were all part of the same modular family.

There is another ad for the car on market place on facebook, where there are a few more picks and a buy price of £1650.......which is a bit weird

I just bought a Peugeot 1989 309 GLD with the XUD 1.9 diesel with 62K on the clock and been garaged all its life. Collecting Saturday and happens to be £1650

I know its not a volvo, but is still old school diesel that will run on anything. Practical is all am looking for. Already have a set of 1.6 205 GTI alloys that will give it a bit more of a look as it is very bland currently lol

I didn't realise that one was a diesel! It started off at £1 with a reserve and buy now 3k then the next day it was on £1250 reserve still not met and buy now 3k and then the next day it was back down to about £200 and eventually didn't sell so clearly something dodgy was going on!

Indeed, the reserve was 1250, I know because it was my bid. I emailed the guy when I found the car on facebook market place, he still said it was a 3k buy it now

So I retracted my bid it went back down. I re-bid and won at £343, but of course it didn't meet the reserve

He said, it was part of a probate sale. However I think he bought it of facebook market place for £1650 and then tried to sell it straight away on ebay to double his money

He would have to get up earlier in the morning to catch me out lol

My dad used to say,” when you catch a mouse asleep, you can p**s in its ear.”
A real philosopher!🧐
