Default C30 T5 Auto 140,000 miles 2007 Reg

Sadly selling my C30 T5 due to requiring another engine
Spend about £3,600 on it this year all work done was at a main dealer

This year at end of January it has had front suspension OSF bottom ball joint boot, link arm NSF anti roll bar link boot
Rear suspension two top mounts and offside rear anti roll bar link
Two brake disc's and pads
Fuel rail pressure sensor
This bill was £1265.81

In May another huge bill £952.75
Work done Offside rear coil spring and rear springs
Two new front tyres
CEM wiring terminals
And a battery

Then in September another £1400.32 spent on it
A thermostat kit
Rear brake discs and pads
Offside front ABS sensor
Electric fan and coolant cap

So basically after getting the car home end of September it sat in my garage for 3 weeks went out one day to get shopping and it started making strange noises and smoke pouring from the engine it cut out and wouldn't start again it was recovered to local Volvo dealer

They did checks on it and told me cylinder head gasket was gone but upon further investigation the values in cylinder 3 and 4 had been washed by water from leaking gasket, the inlet valve guide has dropped out of place and there this wear in the piston crowns

The car is currently sitting at Cleland Volvo in Galashiels Scottish Borders and will need trailered away

Car is an 07 plate with approx 140,000 miles

Open to sensible offers

Would really like this to go to someone to put back onto the road

If no takers it will have to go the scrap dealer

Sorry to hear your tale of woe, 'sheree850r'. Could you not break the car as a last resort to recover the cost of the new components fitted?

Regards, John.

I can't break the car wouldn't know where to start also it's currently sitting at a Volvo main dealer don't think they would take kindly to a car getting stripped on their premises

Might just have to get a breaker to uplift it it's such a shame :-(

How much is a salvage T-5 engine refitted? Is that not an avenue to look into?

Yes we did think about that it will probably cost between £1400 to £1700 for one then there's the cost to fit it which will probably be the same again
Really sad it's come to this as it's a cracking wee motor

You could pick up a salvage Focus St for less than £1700 and use it just for the engine.

Thing is, it's a project for someone (and their mate) who are handy with the spanners - that's pretty much the only way it makes sense, I think.
