Default 2022 XC60 Recharge - Total Sound failure

Hi, Sharing expereince and seeking advice after first 3 months of owning a T8 XC60 Recharge R-Design Pro. Main issue is with Media system. Other possibly relevant point is that this is the Harman Kardan music system.

On a wet and windy saturday we lost all audio from the car. This included the indicators, reverse beepers, the radio, Spotify, telephone and sat nav.

A factory reset (of which I have had to do a few). Returned the indicators, and reverse beepers, Google assistant speaking but left Spotify playing one bar and going silent, and Radio unable to find any stations. The eror message on the Radio is effectively 'Unable to find any radio startions'.

if anyone has identified why and what might be happening I would love to understand this.

Prior to this, other issues have been:
Indicator sound out of sync with the lights, ocassionaly missing a sound or trying to catch up - very random
DAB radio going crackly - unusal for a DAB to crackle.
A day with the dealer found no fault. Described as a feature of the new Volvos??

Volvo On Call App - I have learned that you can only have one phone connected to your car. Unlike our 2015 model that had two phones on same account. Trying to connect two phones to the car will result in the VoC app and car not working. Needs a factory reset to correct this and removal of the apps on the phone to start again

Interested in the experience of others.

"Indicator sound out of sync with the lights, ocassionaly missing a sound or trying to catch up - very random"

Funnily enough I had this a couple of times last week for the first time. I thought I was going mad.

With the DAB I've noticed recently in the same wek that driving a route A-B (School Run) all is good, then returning B-A DAB drops out. Same road, same weather same station. Strange if the antenna would be 'directional'

Hopefully just a couple of blips and no visits to a garage that cannot replicate the issue.

On the indicators, this is not a repairable fault. They all do this. Mine has for nearly 6 years now and I know plenty of others do too.

I have a T6 Recharge with R Design trim and standard sound system. I’ve not had any of these issues so could be something to do with the HK system?

Hi, Thanks for the feedback. Car booked in for a diagnostics check on Friday. VUK tell me it needs a software update in the garage.

This is not meant to be a therapy session but sharing in the interests of others. Hopefully I can post solutions in the coming week.
Todays issues include:

Not starting - the car came alive but refused to start. This has happened a couple of times. Solution is to get out of the car, lock it and then unlock it with the buttons on the key.

No reverse camera - Camera unavailable

Spotify - only source of music would not shut down having tunred the car off and locked the car. Even without Spotify playing the centre dash console remains alive after shut down and car locked.

Hi. I have had something similar with my 2021 V90 T6 Recharge. Intermittently there would be no sound for anything. This became more frequent, however started working again the day I booked it into the garage! They did a system reset and updated the software and all was good for a while, however the issue reappeared. I believe they ended up replacing the amp. All OK now (touch wood!).

Cheers

Dave

My 22MY is currently experiencing no radio sound and the screen is stuck on one radio station and you can’t select any of the favourites. Weirdly Spotify is fine and so is the phone and nav. Just out of interest how did you reset the radio?

Agreed - both of mine have done this.

Total sound loss has (hopefully as it was intermittent) been cured by a software update 2 weeks ago.

To reset the system hold down the central button beneath the screen for 15-20 seconds. It will first say it is in cleaning mode, but keep holding it and it will reset the system and should hopefully remedy your issue
