Default 17inch spacer saver with 18 wheels awd

Hello.
I have put 18 inch wheels on my volvo v70 p2 awd.
I forgot about the space saver which would be sized for the 17 inch wheels.
Will I need to source an 18 inch space saver, or will it be OK to put the spare on as a temporary measure? Would it go on the back?

Secondly I'm debating doing the xc90 brake upgrade. Somebody talk me out of it.

Thanks all.

Can your existing brakes lock the wheels or cause the ABS to kick in? If so, the brake upgrade will merely add weight to your car and remove weight from your wallet.

if you have kept within the volvo recommended tyres sizes compatable with your originals the change in wheel diameter will not have (significantly) changed the rolling circumference of the tyre so whether the wheels are 16/17/18/19 or 20" will make no difference to what the car 'sees' when you put the space saver on.

can't make any comment on the brakes, other than why would you need to 'upgrade' them? - volvo brakes have always seemed pretty good too me, subject to being maintained of course.
