Short answer: Fast (it just keeps on going when you put your foot down).

Long answer: Fast, better sounding, a little less comfortable, worse in car parks and much more thirsty (although that could be due to the above). It's a trade off I'm happy with as it makes me smile when I look out the window or get behind the wheel.

"Grandma" here: I just rotated my tires; bought 'em 9K ago. I found one piece of metal in one tire.
The time to do my brakes is approaching. I've only the parking shoes left to buy.
Front struts, turn front rotors, clean and lube brake parts, replace all pads and shoes, replace rear rotors and install the genuine Volvo mud flaps. It'll be a day's work.

Today's rotation showed me the meth heads used ultimate pneumatic tool power when reinstalling my wheels. Damn fools.

It's always a good idea to check your lugs after a tire purchase (or any work where the wheels are removed). I wouldn't've wanted to learn how hard they were put on by changing a tire in an emergency situation.

Grandma out.

I've taken to carrying 3ft bar breaker as well as 12V socket lighter socket impact driver "just in case".

Time for the V70 R's first service since my ownership. It's too big a job for me so off to JC Garage in Plumstead. First time using them but they seemed to know what they were talking about and had a yard full of Volvos.

Spotted this 850 T5-R in cream yellow lurking there:

Default Been meaning to get a "roundtuit"

Finally got round to putting the '91 Eunos Roadster up for sale.......

the C70 2T will be going up in the 850 / S70 & V70 '96-'99 / C70 '97-'05 "For Sale" section of this website on Friday, if it isn't too hot tomorrow to give it the once over ...........

which, if and when they are sold means there will no ragtops left on the drive

plus 1 on carrying a 3ft breaker bar. i take my locking wheel nuts off before going for any tire work. as i dont trust them not to ruin the wheel nut key . i never understand rotateing tyres it just ends up with all 4 tire needing changeing at once i just change the worn out ones usualy the front. rear tire will out last 3 sets of fronts.

- and there you have it! Plus when swapping effectively "flat worn" rear tyres for the slightly more convexed front tyres always makes the steering feel awful!

Wallet a little lighter now and due to get even lighter.

Need new front wishbones as all the bushings are crap, so will be going back to the garage for that.

And to add insult to injury, I now need new rear tyres too.

Previous owner had put Michelin Pilot Sport 5s on the front but that seems like premium tyre over kill on the rear.

that tire looks past its best anyway. it has probably run at low pressure overheating the shoulder. causeing cracking i would be interested what the date code is on the tire in the pic. yes its punctured but not a great loss as it needed changeing anyway. dont take risks with tires and brakes your life depends on them.

Tyres were next on my to do list. The one with the screw is 3616, the other 3618 so not super old.

Currently now looks like:
  1. replace rear tyres
  2. replace front wish bones
  3. haldex service
  4. tint windows
