Default XC70 AWD Bevel box

I'm not technically minded! I've been told that I need a new bevel box for my 2000 XC70 AWD, I've also been told that the box I need is the same part in models until 2005 when it changed.
I've tried on-line to get the bevel box and I can't afford the £1200 + that my Volvo dealer is asking!
Does anybody know where I can get one? Any help is appreciated.

These people may be able to help. BUT beware you are buying 2nd hand parts and they may be as bad as what you have. Comments on here suggest these people are not cowboys though.

Call Cars in Oxfordshire, they’re a Volvo specialist. See if there’s any alternatives available

I had bearing failure on mine and rebuilt it. Fetched all the part numbers off VIDA and put in an order with the local Volvo dealership. If you'd like I can show you the part numbers I ordered. (If you have the patience of course!).

Total cost was about £400 and a couple weeks of work.

EDIT: Didn't read your post properly at all! Must be because it's the morning, didn't see you said you weren't technically minded. Will leave this post here for anyone else though.
