Default What is this pipe?!

Hi everyone.
As I am preparing the XC90 for a holiday road trip, I was chasing some oil leaks when I noticed that there is a pipe which doesn’t look right.
It almost looks melted and I think needs replacing asap.
It is the circled pipe in the pictures below.

Not unless it is holed or leaking....

It takes vapors from the engine breather system and feeds back into the inlet tract before the turbo charger. It doesn't carry fluid or anything at high pressures, unless it's split or leaking, I'd leave it.

I saw on the underside of the grey engine cover, directly where this pipe goes, that there is oil. Does this mean that the pipe is leaking?

I doubt it.... unless oil is dripping from it or the area around it is wet with oil (rather than sweating) I wouldn't bother. Even if it did completely fall apart, the worst you are likely to notice is oily smells.
