Default D5 2009 185bhp EGR sensor pt nos

Hello All,
2009 V70 2.4 D5 D5244T4 185bhp, 57,000 miles.
I have the old intermittant power issue and have been chasing with the help of the forums information. (Serious Lurking and thank you)

The EGR was cleaned out and a few mm of crud found all round. Hoses, intercooler and swirl link checked ok.

The next cunning plan is to replace the EGR position sensor / electronic unit.

The part listed is EGR Valve position sensor 31216573 [PIERBERG 7.00555.07.0] for EGR Valve 36050570. However the various web site filters (everybody offers it) say that this is the wrong part for the car.

A quick squint at the part fitted, shows 31219874 (PIERBERG 70057505) None of the sites offers this part other than a second hand S80 one.

Has anyone experienced this or can shed some light on it?
Thanks in advance.

Cool

Ask the folks at Skandix or even your local stealer which part it is.
The Skandix site is also VIN specific and very reliable. They do own label and gen Volvo parts.

I would not replace the EGR until getting the fault codes read.

Thanks Skyship,
Codes showed dodgy O2 and lower DPF temp sensors. Both have been replaced and cleared. I will have a look at Skandix just now. My thoughts were for the motor and poition sensor rather than the whole EGR body.
I was surprised to find the part number fitted does not appear anywhere else. I'm hoping its been superceded.
Cheers

According to skandix
EGR 36000997
EGR control 31216573 Other sites say these are for the 2009 163bhp only.
Slightly confused, giving the part that is fitted to mine!

Hi
My 185 06 position sensor went a couple of years ago, according to clan it's not unusual around 100000 miles , I've still got the old sensor and it reads , 30677714 pierburg 7.00575.03 , 05 T 311 SPAIN and on the bar code sticker on the top 051029/0514
Hope this helps dave

The seniors easy to remove if you've got the space , 4 screws and unplug the wiring and it pulls off

Repaired by our Man in Cowdenbeath.
Testing showed EGR functioning smoothly and smoke test showed no leaks in the plumbing.
Actual fault was Lower temp sensor for DPF bad. Sadly it had welded its self to the gland so new DPF as well. Running smooth and pulling like a train again.
