Sudden Loss of Power
Hi guys
I'm a recent convert to Volvo and a newby to this forum. On way back from excellent holiday in Worcester, on A66, towing caravan, when (without warning) experienced loud bang / pop (thought it was a tyre blowout), with sudden loss of power and "Engine Management Service Required" warning light on dash. AA cam out but diagnostic shows no fault code and engine does start (in limp home mode). When revved I can hear what sounds like air either getting drawn in or escaping, from some where around / underneath the turbo unit - not easy to see exactly where, if I've blown a gasket, burst a pipe or done the turbocharger itself. Would be grateful for any starter for 10 on this / has this happened to you? Thanks in anticipation |

Probably a split or blown off air pipe from the sounds of what you describe, take the air pipe off the outlet of the turbo and squeeze it to see if it has split, if not follow the air pipes from the turbo one by one checking them for a split/ disconnection - Mike
