Engine Service Warning
Hi, I have a S60 D5 04 which has an annoying problem.
When accelerating often (Not always) when I take the revs over 2500 the engine service display comes on and the car looses any power to accelerate (possibly limp home mode?) I have checked that all the vac pipes are connected and I have taken off the pipe from the top of the engine to the Alloy pipe which connects to the engine block at the front (often referred to as the EGR inlet pipe) which was fairly sooted up but only about 20% blocked at the most. (I cleaned this) After taking the car for a 200 mile run on the motorway the problem went away for about 2 weeks then returned again. I drive around fairly economically around town mostly. When I took the car to the MOT garage last about 4 months ago he revved the car up to test the Co2 and a lot of soot came out from the exhaust over the floor? Would the Turbo Control Valve cause this? Can it be repaired if so? Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this problem? Is it a normal problem with this car? Thank you for reading this and any help you can give me. Thanks |
