I know most units were 35A and I'll take one of those if I can get it unless there is a 55A unit offered. The 74 140 with AC was fitted with a 55A unit AFAIK.

Do tell us more, and is that a straight bolt-in swap?

I think my heap has the 35Amp unit (Dai, I remember you telling me at the BKV that it was all as per the factory setup) & currently seems to cope ok with the extra power required for a modern stereo setup (no external amps or anything like that though). However I'll be fitting a heated rear screen (once the replacement top tailgate has been painted) as well as front fogs / spots & rear fog lights & a high level brake light. Presumably all those will require a beefier alternator? My battery is the Bosch unit as specced for a 140 / 240 in Halford's listings.

I have an original 35 amp unit available. I do not know its condition though as I have never used it.

Think I spoke about an alternator conversion on my thread that I did with a modern volvo alternator on the original bracket.

Paul where are you getting your heated screen from?

I bought it last year from Simon at Brookhouse - was shipped over from one of his suppliers in Sweden. I think I recall him saying that there weren't many left from the batch that were made a few years back.

Afraid not - it's packed away at the moment away from home so I don't have easy access. The replacement tailgate is currently at the blasters (next stop the metal magician for some small repairs, then the paint man) and after that I'll be fitting it up so will take some pics of the glass then, when I fetch it from storage.

Took photos last night but didn't get a chance to upload. It is a Bosch/volvo 35amp model. Will upload asap.
