Default Hot Dang and Bother!!

Well, that didn't take long for my NEW motor to throw up an issue. Great drive home, no issue. Woohoo me thinks, I pulled up outside the house and the motor starts playing up. Restarted the motor and it wouldn't rev. Noooooooooooo! So, stops the engine, restarts and it does it again. Need tea.... Stomps back out and the motor started no bother. It's was ticking over like it was about to run out of diesel. Before I take it back to the garage, any ideas?

Its a 2006 2ltr D Euro 4 V50

Not happy TT

My very 1st thoughts would be fuel filter, but it could be a number of things.

Sorry mate, modern cars are a bit of a mystery to me, but I would not be happy either, in fact I would be wanting to grab the sales guy round the neck.

It happens...... The cars been very well looked after by the previous owner. I was looking through the paperwork that came with it, it's wanted for nothing. I think this is a genuine problem. I'll call him Monday and get it sorted, I'm confident

I trained on Cortina's, Escorts and Leyland Trucks. Modern motors are powered by fuel and fairy dust. Unless your a computer nerd, your options are limited

I'm with Rossi and first thought goes to fuel filter too with the addition to the throttle body (TB).

Always a good idea to remove TB and give a good clean. The flap or flaps depending which revision you have can get stuck due to dirt and muck causing a sticky flap and the symptoms you have got. The other thing is the TB can distort over time and especially if the jubilee clip is over tightened and as such causes the flap to foul on the body itself

HTH,

I was looking that one over earlier, I believe Clan had the same issue. I'm giving the dealer a chance to sort it first.

I'm a fair player mate, I suspect he'll uphold his side if things. The warranty seems straight enough, let's see what happens. I give everyone a fair crack before I draw out the big guns.
