Question A sopping wet V70 tailgate trim

Over the last few weeks on occasions whenever the heavens have opened, the bottom of the tailgate interior panel has been absolutely sodden through. I can't see any obvious signs of leakage and I'm at a loss. Anybody have any ideas or has anybody had such a phenomenon with their V70's ?

check the drain holes on the tailgate, sounds like they're blocked.

At the base on the boot lid. there should be two holes in the metal. It's the bit that you tw*t your head on when the lid opens too slow!!! LOL

I take it that is for the saloon. Is the V70 tailgate the same?

When this was wet on mine it was because of 3 things... (855)

1) Leaking around the washer jet that is in the rear window
2) Leaking from the window seal gunk at the top of the tailgate where the glass meets the metal
3) Leaking from a nick in the rear washer hose that runs up the inside of the offside rear pillar

Not sure if any of these might apply to the early V70s too...

I doubt that it's from the washer jet or the hose as I've not seen any major wash fluid loss. It has only reared it's ugly head over the last few weeks when the heavens have opened. I'll be stripping the tailgate down soon to fit the trim repair kit, so i'll have a look at it then. If necessary I'll reseal at the same time.

Thanks itguy.
