VW Golf 2ltr (8v) GTI yr 2000, on a V.

Probably the best engine (1984cc SOHC) that VW group ever made. Smooth, extraordinarily reliable, efficient.. but with 115 horsepower not exactly ideal GTi power ;-)

Pretty sure they only fitted that one because the more powerful 1984cc 16v had a reputation for running hot and the later golfs didnt have uprated cooling. Nor did the PAssat GT16v I had the DOHC engine in - and it was constantly overheating.
