Default CV joint apears knackered

While sevicing the car and had it jacked up i noticed the near side wheel was wobbling excessively. There must have been about 5mm of play at the wheel. It seems to be wobbling at the cv joint. The wheel nuts are tight and the whole disc and wheel are wobbling together. What sort of job is it to change the cv joint. I dont have a haynes manual yet. or is it something else.

Also what haynes do i need for this 2.5 turbo diesel audi engine

Regards...Dean

The wheel and hub is held firm by the lower suspension arm, which contains a ball joint. Check this for wear. A loose CV joint wouldn't result in a loose wheel. You need a combination of the V70 and Audi A6 manuals and/or VADIS. Regards.
