  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Default engine breather

740 d24t.. This is follow up to my oil leak thread engine power washed and oil is coming ut of breather. I have not had chance to change filter on it. why do I have oil coming out of the engine breather? This is also the reason why i have oil spots on tailgate

AFAIK (via the wiki) oil gets into the breather in two ways, one via the rings as a mist (blow-by). All engines have this to a small degree, so it is not unusual to find a small amount of oil in the breather. The other source is a leaking turbo oil seal. As you have more than a mist I imagine it's the latter.
