Also doesn't matter if your on / off the power, or dragging the brakes or not when going over speed bumps / dropping off kerbs

Any ideas welcome, removing the arb droplinks neither made it worse or better.....

Didn't think it would be drop links.

Watched your vids, are you sure it's coming from the suspension - i.e. outside the cabin? Is it louder when you have the window down?

As someone else has suggested, could it be the subframe bushes? I had groaning rear bushes on the front subframe, not the same symptoms as yours but the noise transmission into the cabin from a very minor movement in the bush was incredible. If you had one with definitive play in it then it could make a knock noise clearly audible in the cabin like yours.

Top mount Bearing possibly ???

I have the same on mine a 2006 MK2 s80 2.4D

Just thought I would throw in a curve ball as all my bits got changed & eventually found out to be a £38 top bearing mount.

Got is sorted, it was the bump stops on top of the suspension struts, the ones fitted at the factory were to hard as per TJ EN-GB 22510
